PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Cattell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bubba Dummy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cattell's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Brooks & Dunn - My Maria . Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brandon Cattell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bubba Dummy!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Joseph Jones and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cattell works the jab nicely.
Dummy walks into a left hand.
Cattell throws a right hand that misses

and Dummy counters with a single leg into guard. Cattell didn't expect that.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dummy trying to control but Cattell is working from the bottom.

Dummy drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Cattell dives on top into guard.

Cattell avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dummy working for a triangle but Cattell defends it easily.
Cattell trying to control the position from guard on top but Dummy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Brandon Cattell.
Cattell misses with a body shot

and Dummy counters with a nice double leg into guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dummy pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cattell is keeping the position for now.

Dummy drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Cattell manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Dummy has Cattell in his guard.
Cattell might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Cattell trying to control the position from guard on top but Dummy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Dummy has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cattell can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bubba Dummy dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Cattell waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Dummy.
Cattell tries a head kick but it misses.
Cattell misses with an uppercut.
Dummy ducks under a wild hook from Cattell.

Dummy bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Dummy swings around for an armbar but Cattell sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Dummy's guard.

Cattell avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Dummy looking for a guillotine here but Cattell defends easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dummy keeping full guard, as Cattell tries to pass.

Dummy is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cattell defends well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Dummy is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Cattell is aware though and is defending well.

Cattell is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cattell works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Dummy wants to get back to full guard but Cattell has passed into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dummy trying his best to control but Cattell has mounted him.
Cattell looking to control but Dummy is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Dummy tries to reverse the position but Cattell maintains control.
Cattell takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bubba Dummy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


A swing and a miss from Cattell.
Dummy swats away the attempt to clinch by Cattell.
Cattell tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Dummy needs to keep his hands up - Cattell had a free shot at his head there.
A jab from Cattell does it's job there.
Cattell ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dummy moves away.
Dummy avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Dummy shoots in for a double leg but Cattell sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Cattell throws a poor cross that misses

and Dummy counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cattell wants to control but Dummy is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Dummy is trying to work for a kimura but Cattell is defending well.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Dummy is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Cattell is just riding it out for now. Dummy eventually gives up the hold.

Dummy is trying for a kimura here. Cattell looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Dummy wins by kimura!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Bubba Dummy!
