Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Wesley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Genghis Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wesley comes to the cage accompanied by Wild Thing by Tone-Loc. Genghis Khan has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Ryan Wesley's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Ryan Wesley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 11 - 1, fighting out of New York, Genghis Khan!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Lou da Vinci and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Wesley misses the target.
Khan misses with a takedown
and Wesley counters with a nice kick to the body.
No luck for Khan with that takedown attempt.
Wesley dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Khan. That did some damage!
Khan blocks a head kick by Wesley.

Wesley connects with a leg kick. Khan looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Khan shoots in for a takedown but Wesley shows good takedown defense.

Khan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wesley's waist but Wesley gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Khan off to one side.

Ryan Wesley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wesley tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Khan was well out of range. Poor timing from Wesley.

Wesley throws a sloppy head kick and Khan moves out of range easily.
Khan takes one on the button.
Wesley lands a really nice looking cross but Khan seems unphased.
Wesley connects with a body shot.
Wesley takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Wesley is looking to slow Khan down with leg kicks.

Khan bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Wesley is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Khan has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Khan tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Khan has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Wesley bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Wesley misses the shot to the body.
Nice uppercut lands for Wesley. That snapped Khan's head back.
Khan moves away from the strike by Wesley.

Wesley swings widly with a right hand

and Khan holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Khan is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Wesley is defending well.

Khan gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Wesley wants to stand but Khan is controlling the position.

Khan thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Wesley seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Wesley pushes Khan off and scrambles back to his feet.
Ryan Wesley is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Khan takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Wesley throws a hook but Khan blocks it.
A slow jab from Wesley misses its intended target.
Khan throws out a powerful jab.
Khan scores with a sloppy right hand. Wesley should have avoided that one.
A nice inside leg kick there by Wesley. That's going to slow Khan down.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Khan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wesley tries to avoid it but Khan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wesley to the ground. Wesley escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Khan throws a right and a left that Wesley avoids nicely.
Wesley lunges at Khan with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Khan's hand.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Wesley throws a looping overhand right but Khan ducks down to avoid it.

The fighters circle momentarily. Wesley darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Khan chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Wesley can pounce on him.

Wesley seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Khan moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Wesley tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Khan was well out of range. Poor timing from Wesley.
Wesley lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Wesley cracks the inside of Khan's front leg.
Wesley scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Wesley throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Khan sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Wesley misses with a wild combination.
Wesley throws a head kick but Khan moves out of range.
Khan takes a swing at Wesley's ribcage but misses.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Wesley throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Khan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Wesley sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Khan somewhat.

Khan thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wesley tries to bench press Khan off him but Khan keeps the position.
Genghis Khan has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Wesley tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Khan lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Khan is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Wesley sees it coming and defends easily.

Khan drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Wesley manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Khan has Wesley in his guard.

Khan is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Wesley throws a big elbow that misses.

Khan is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Wesley has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Khan is proving hard to escape from.
Ryan Wesley is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

I would just about give that final round to Genghis Khan.
