0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Mcgillicutty! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mcgillicutty lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Nelson circles away quickly and effectively. Nelson fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Nelson lands a two punch combo.
Mcgillicutty gets tackled into the cage by Nelson. Nelson maintains the clinch. Mcgillicutty is trying to push Nelson away but Nelson has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Nelson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Nelson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Nelson showed some decent athleticism there. Mcgillicutty is trying to stand.
Nelson uses his free foot to push down on Mcgillicutty's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Mcgillicutty. Nelson lands a big shot there that rocks Mcgillicutty but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Nelson manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nelson is trying to control. Mcgillicutty wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
