Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Trey Dakota! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Bruce Banner! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Paul Gruel and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Banner misses with a wild body shot. Banner misses the shot to the body. Dakota throws an overhand right that lands on Banner's shoulder, as Banner tries to avoid the shot. Dakota really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Dakota throws a series of strikes that have Banner backpedaling.
Trey Dakota seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dakota throws a nice looking combination but Banner bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Dakota staying out of range there. Dakota misses with a wild body shot. Banner needs to keep his hands up - Dakota had a free shot at his head there. A combination from Dakota does no damage. A slow jab from Banner misses its intended target. Dakota throws out a loose jab but Banner uses good head movement to avoid it. Dakota gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Banner to score an easy takedown into full guard. Banner wants to stand but Dakota has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Banner throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dakota works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Banner showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Banner wants to pass the guard but Dakota is keeping the position. Dakota keeping moving, preventing Banner from controlling successfully. Banner controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Bruce Banner hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Dakota misses with a body punch
and Banner counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Banner avoids the body shot from Dakota.

and Banner counters with a lovely straight right hand! Dakota misses with a looping right. Banner throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Dakota misses the shot to the body. Banner uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Dakota. Dakota throws a lazy uppercut
and Banner counters with a stiff right hand. Banner misses with an uppercut. Dakota saw that one coming.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dakota throws a right hand that misses
and Banner counters with a stiff right hand. Dakota throws a jab when Banner was well out of range. Jab, jab by Banner - just one landing. Banner uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dakota.

Banner tries to keep at a distance but Dakota has taken the fight into the clinch. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Dakota misses with a hook from the clinch. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Banner misses with the head strike.
Dakota lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Dakota swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Trey Dakota dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

and Banner counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Dakota misses with a low kick. Dakota lands a jab to Banner's midsection. Dakota tries to close the distance and clinch but Banner swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Good exchange - Banner coming out on top. A jab from Dakota misses. Banner fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Dakota to the ground. Banner is now in Dakota's guard. Dakota has momentary wrist control but Banner slips an elbow through the middle. Banner postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Banner trying to control the position from guard on top but Dakota is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Banner working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Banner content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Dakota will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Banner wants to control from the top but Dakota keeps moving. and Banner counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Banner takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

That's three minutes gone in the round. A decent looking cross lands there for Dakota. Banner is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Dakota. Banner shoots in and drives through. Dakota sprawls well. Dakota throws a poor cross that misses
and Banner counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Banner uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Dakota. Dakota loads up on a big right hand but Banner slips the punch. Banner drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Dakota preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Banner won't allow Dakota to get back to his feet. Dakota is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Banner accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Banner loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Banner works over Dakota with some ground and pound from guard. Dakota working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Banner. Banner postures up in Dakota's guard and throws a big left but Dakota blocks it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Dakota wants to sweep but no luck. That's one minute gone in the round. A looping hook to the body misses from Dakota. Banner does a little dance to reset his feet. Dakota misses with a left hand and Banner counters with a lovely straight right hand! Banner throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Dakota stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Banner takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Dakota slips a jab from Banner. Banner misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Dakota.

Dakota throws a combination that misses and Banner counters with a left to the body. Dakota wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Banner lands a nice looking body shot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Dakota just misses with a punch to the body.
