Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sang Min Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sharp Pen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sang Min Kim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sharp Pen!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Ren Mimura and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kim tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Pen looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Pen wants to control from the top but Kim keeps moving.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Pen closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kim to the mat! Kim manages to get full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kim is on top in guard.
Pen is pulling down on Kim's head. It's preventing any offense from Kim, at least for the moment.
Pen can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kim controls the pace.

Kim passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Kim works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Pen wants to control but Kim postures up.
Kim passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Pen!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pen can do anything to dispel that myth.
Kim looking to control but Pen is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Pen is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Pen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kim. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kim looking to finish Pen with some ground and pound. This is bad for Pen!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sang Min Kim dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Pen chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kim can pounce on him.
Pen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kim tries to avoid it but Pen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kim to the ground. Kim escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A combination from Kim does no damage.
Pen keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Sharp Pen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kim throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Pen.
Kim throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Pen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kim sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Pen somewhat.
Kim rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pen moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Pen will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Sang Min Kim has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sharp Pen.
Kim scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Kim throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Pen avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Kim scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
No luck for Pen with that takedown attempt.
Kim throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.

Kim gets caught napping as Pen dives in and scores a takedown. Kim manages to retain guard.

Sang Min Kim overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Kim is looking to work some ground and pound but Pen has wrist control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kim passes into half guard.
Kim throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Kim wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pen keeps working.
Kim looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Pen is trying to stand.
Kim working over Pen with some ground and pound. Pen looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Kim wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pen keeps working.
Kim has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Pen is looking to control Kim's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Pen avoid being mounted?
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Still in half guard, Kim seems content to control.

We're going to have a standup here because Sang Min Kim wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Kim misses with a straight left.

Kim thuds his shin into the meat of Pen's side.
Kim swings and misses with a hook to the body.

and Pen counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Kim lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Pen takes a kick to the side of the head.
Sang Min Kim is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kim lands with a nice combination. Pen backs away looking to recover.
Kim lands a glancing blow to the side of Pen's head.
Pen tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kim swivels and escapes.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Sang Min Kim is winning the standup battle so far.
Pen takes a jab right on the kisser.
Pen shoots in for a takedown but Kim shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Kim tries to work over Pen's front leg with a kick but Pen checks it.

Pen bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Kim is looking for a sweep. Pen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Kim works his way to full guard. Good work.
Kim is trying to keep Pen in close.
Kim wants to sweep here but Pen controlling him for the moment.

Kim looking for a triangle here. Pen is fighting it but it looks tight! Kim pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Pen is tapping out - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Sang Min Kim!
