PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between King Cole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Krav Maga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maga is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by fuel. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, King Cole! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Krav Maga! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Colin Fray and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cole throws a leg kick that is checked and Maga counters with a single leg into guard. Cole didn't expect that. Cole avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Maga missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Cole knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Maga on the ground. Maga with a flurry of punches that miss. Maga drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Maga jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Cole really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Maga wants to control from the top but Cole keeps moving. Cole on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Cole tries to get out of the position. Maga postures up in Cole's guard and throws a big left but Cole blocks it. Cole will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Cole is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Maga is controlling him. Cole managing to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maga in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Maga trying to control the position from guard on top but Cole is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Krav Maga hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Cole throws a body punch but Maga moves out of range. Maga shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. An inside leg kick from Cole misses. A looping hook to the body misses from Cole. Maga does a little dance to reset his feet. Cole avoids the head kick by Maga.
Maga throws a head kick but Cole moves out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cole moves into the clinch. A frustrated look appears on Maga's face as he tries to break the clinch. Cole connects with a knee to the head.
It looks like Krav Maga has been cut. Maga jumps guard but Cole stands there with Maga around his waist. Maga gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Cole utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. Maga looks gassed! Cole tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Cole avoiding damage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Maga takes a knee to the side of the body. Cole working Maga over with knees to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cole blocks an elbow strike from Maga.

Cole landing knees to the head.
Maga tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Cole's elbow. Cole lands a big knee! That's hurt Maga! Oh, he's all over the place! Cole lands another knee that sends Maga to the floor and the referee steps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). King Cole!
