Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Backstrom shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Backstrom got a little sloppy there for a moment and Davison has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Backstrom has managed to get both his arms back between Davison's legs - danger averted.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Davison swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Backstrom breaks from the clinch.
Backstrom shoots in but Davison avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Davison throws a nice looking combination but Backstrom bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Davison scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Davison scores with a crisp jab that stopped Backstrom in his tracks.
Davison is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Backstrom.
Davison throws a lazy uppercut
and Backstrom counters with a head kick.
Backstrom is breathing heavily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Davison lands with a shot to the body.
Backstrom shoots in looking for a takedown but Davison manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Backstrom's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Backstrom tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Davison paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Davison fails to land with a series of punches.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Backstrom misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Davison stuffs the takedown.
Joe Davison has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Backstrom.
Davison thows a left - swing and a miss!

It's a brutal combination of punches from Davison! Backstrom is backing up but he can't get away as Davison lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Backstrom and ends the fight. Great knockout.

A relieved looking Joe Davison thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
