Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Tasmanian Devil! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dre Garcilazo! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Mauricio Rocha and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Garcilazo gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Garcilazo turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Devil is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Garcilazo off and has taken his back! Devil controls the action.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Tasmanian Devil wasn't doing enough on the ground. Garcilazo has taken the fight to the clinch.
Devil wants a takedown but no success here.
Garcilazo has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Devil is trying to keep an underhook but Garcilazo manages to get the takedown into half guard. Devil is pressing down on Garcilazo's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Devil seems keen to control Garcilazo's posture.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Tasmanian Devil just wasn't active enough. Garcilazo closes the distance and pushes Devil back into the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Garcilazo decides to pull guard. Devil stays in close to Garcilazo's body and controls the position. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Tasmanian Devil wasn't doing enough on the ground. Garcilazo rushes Devil and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Devil wants a takedown but no success here.
Garcilazo decides to pull guard. Devil sitting in guard here, content to control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Tasmanian Devil will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Garcilazo moves into the clinch. Come on Devil - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Garcilazo looking to slow down the pace here. Garcilazo throws a punch but it's blocked by Devil. Devil blocking some punches.

Garcilazo tries to throw a body punch but Devil avoids it by throwing Garcilazo back against the cage. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Garcilazo throws a head punch that misses. Garcilazo works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Devil has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Tasmanian Devil overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Tasmanian Devil. Garcilazo has taken the fight to the clinch.
Garcilazo works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Devil pulls Garcilazo in to control the position.
Tasmanian Devil has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Devil gets tackled into the cage by Garcilazo. Garcilazo maintains the clinch. Garcilazo lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Devil manages to get to full guard.
Devil lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Garcilazo!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Garcilazo is trying to stand. Devil controlling the position easily from mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Devil's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Dre Garcilazo will probably get the nod - 10:9. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Devil tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Garcilazo was well out of range. Poor timing from Devil. Garcilazo closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Garcilazo swings wildly with an uppercut but Devil uses good head movement to avoid it. Garcilazo is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Devil blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Garcilazo has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Devil uses from the top position. Devil might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Devil not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Garcilazo forces Devil back against the cage and clinches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Garcilazo is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Garcilazo jumps guard.
Devil sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Garcilazo's guard. Garcilazo is looking to get back to is feet but Devil passes into side control.
Devil slows the pace down.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Garcilazo gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Devil controlling the position easily from mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
We're going to have a standup here because Tasmanian Devil wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Garcilazo gets in close and instigates a clinch. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Devil takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Garcilazo has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Devil is trying to keep an underhook but Garcilazo manages to get the takedown into half guard. Devil preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Devil is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Garcilazo's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Garcilazo's back!
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tasmanian Devil. I think Devil has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
