Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Young Tutankhamon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Childs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Childs's choice of entrance music: Born This Way. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brian Childs!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Summer Carpenter and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Childs connects with a single shot there.
Childs stuffs the takedown attempt from Tutankhamon. Tutankhamon gets slowly back to his feet.
Both fighters circling a little - Childs finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Tutankhamon has managed to clinch.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Tutankhamon.
Childs tries to land knees in the clinch but Tutankhamon avoids the damage to the body.

Childs manages to break the clinch.

Tutankhamon closes the distance and clinches.
Tutankhamon blocks the elbow strike.
Tutankhamon lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Childs backwards.

Childs keeps control of Tutankhamon as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Childs breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Tutankhamon closes the distance and pushes Childs back into the cage.

Tutankhamon tightens his grip and picks Childs up, before dumping him to the ground. Childs manages to land in guard.
Childs keeping moving, preventing Tutankhamon from controlling successfully.
Tutankhamon stands up over Childs, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Tutankhamon is looking to work some ground and pound but Childs has wrist control.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tutankhamon accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Childs can do anything to dispel that myth.

Tutankhamon slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Tutankhamon sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Childs is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Tutankhamon has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Tutankhamon throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Tutankhamon lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Childs down.

Childs is not content to let Tutankhamon control the position.
Childs regains half guard there - taking advantage of Tutankhamon's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Tutankhamon thows a huge punch but Childs dodges it nicely.
Tutankhamon winds up and cracks Childs with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Tutankhamon connects with a nice short shot to Childs's temple.
