Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ted Scheckler! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Otto Vetch! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, David Schapiro and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vetch throws a looping overhand right but Scheckler ducks down to avoid it. Scheckler blocks a head kick by Vetch.
Scheckler on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Vetch scoring well with a low kick there.
Scheckler takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Otto Vetch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Scheckler throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Scheckler throws a right and a left that Vetch avoids nicely. Scheckler takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Vetch, as that shot connected.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Scheckler lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Vetch has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Vetch and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vetch misses with a head kick.
Scheckler throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Scheckler ducks right into an uppercut from Vetch. Some wild striking there from Scheckler.
Vetch moves into range and clinches up with Scheckler. Good body shot from Vetch.
A battle for position here, against the cage. Vetch breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A chopping leg kick lands by Vetch. Vetch cracks Scheckler with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Scheckler attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Scheckler shoots in for a double leg but Vetch sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vetch throws a nice head kick!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Vetch is looking to clinch. An inside leg kick lands from Vetch. Scheckler shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Vetch defends it nicely. Vetch misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Vetch tries to close the distance and clinch but Scheckler swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Otto Vetch is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Vetch fails in his attempt to clinch. Vetch tries to clinch up but Scheckler circles away and keeps his distance. A head kick misses from Vetch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vetch throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Scheckler blocks the body kick.
Vetch throws a jab when Scheckler was well out of range. Vetch misses the jab. Vetch throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Scheckler sees it coming and avoids it easily. Vetch wants to clinch. Scheckler throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Scheckler misses with a hook. Vetch ducked under it nicely. Vetch throws a low kick but it's checked well by Scheckler. Vetch chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Scheckler can pounce on him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vetch swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Vetch tries to score with a low kick but Scheckler moves his leg out of the way. Vetch throws a leg kick but Scheckler sees it coming and moves out of range. Vetch lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Scheckler throws a push kick but Vetch slaps the foot to one side. Good shot there by Scheckler. Vetch jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Vetch fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Scheckler manages to avoid it. Scheckler throws a hook to the side of Vetch's head but Vetch sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Vetch is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Scheckler. Vetch cracks Scheckler with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Scheckler keeps the fight on the outside. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Otto Vetch dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Scheckler takes one to the chin there. Vetch gets caught napping as Scheckler dives in and scores a takedown. Vetch manages to retain guard. Scheckler wants to pass the guard but Vetch is keeping the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Scheckler avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Vetch working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Scheckler doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Scheckler manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Scheckler works a leg free and moves into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Scheckler tries to pass the half guard into mount. Vetch knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Vetch is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Scheckler's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Scheckler's back! Scheckler turns into Vetch and is now in his guard.
Scheckler passes Vetch's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Scheckler seems to be looking for submissions.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Scheckler thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Vetch's head. Scheckler thows a huge punch but Vetch dodges it nicely.
Scheckler trying to control the pace. Vetch is not content to let Scheckler control the position. Vetch is pressing down on Scheckler's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Scheckler pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Vetch is keeping the position for now. Vetch keeping moving, preventing Scheckler from controlling successfully. Scheckler seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We're going to have a standup here because Ted Scheckler wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Vetch misses with a leg kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vetch wants to clinch up but Scheckler keeps it at a distance. Vetch doesn't manage to clinch there - Scheckler circles away.
Scheckler throws a push kick but Vetch slaps the foot to one side. Good standup being displayed there by Vetch as he connects with a hook. Vetch tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Scheckler manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Vetch connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Vetch misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Vetch dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Scheckler. That did some damage! Vetch misses with a series of wild punches.
Scheckler feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Vetch's calf. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ted Scheckler dominated that second round. That's time! Scheckler's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Vetch throws a leg kick and Scheckler counters with a two punch combo. Vetch throws a low kick but Scheckler moves out of range easily. Scheckler moves out of range of the leg kick from Vetch. Vetch thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Scheckler if he has to take too many more of those.
Scheckler takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Vetch misses with a body kick. Some bone on bone action there as Vetch checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Scheckler throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. A big left from Scheckler misses. Scheckler takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Vetch moves in looking to clinch but Scheckler pushes him off. Vetch fails in his attempt to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Scheckler misses with a double jab.
Vetch throws a head kick but Scheckler moves out of range.
Scheckler looks for a takedown but Vetch sprawls well. A punch combination from Scheckler misses. Otto Vetch seems to be getting the better of the standup. A swing and a miss from Scheckler. Scheckler blocks a head kick by Vetch.
Vetch feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Scheckler's calf. Vetch fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Vetch tries a head kick but it misses.
Scheckler gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Scheckler shoots in but no luck this time. Scheckler thows a body shot but no joy. Vetch wants to slow Scheckler down by chopping away at his legs. Vetch throws a head kick but Scheckler moves out of range.

Scheckler tries to land a front kick but Vetch steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Vetch, right into the meat.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Scheckler moves out of range of the body kick. Vetch looks for the body kick but Scheckler saw that one coming. Vetch avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Scheckler shoots in but Vetch avoids the takedown attempt easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ted Scheckler. That's going to take a lot out of him. Vetch plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Scheckler ducks right into an uppercut from Vetch. Vetch scores with a crisp jab that stopped Scheckler in his tracks. Scheckler gets the takedown into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Scheckler trying to control the position but Vetch is working away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vetch taking a bit of punishment here - Scheckler scoring with strikes. Scheckler working away. Scheckler has hold of Vetch's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Vetch seems comfortable defending it but Scheckler has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Vetch is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Vetch is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Scheckler couldn't care less - he's delighted!

A very excited looking Ted Scheckler made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet.
