The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body kick from O Leary.
O Leary connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Cunnigham's hands.
Cunnigham tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but O Leary was well out of range. Poor timing from Cunnigham.
O Leary changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Cunnigham tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but O Leary swivels and escapes.
Cunnigham tries to score a power double leg takedown but O Leary sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cunnigham somewhat.
Cunnigham will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeremy Cunnigham. That's going to take a lot out of him.
O Leary closes the distance and lands a one-two.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cunnigham throws an elbow that misses. O Leary uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Cunnigham's guard. Nice move by O Leary!

Cunnigham has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but O Leary can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Cunnigham has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

O Leary avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Cunnigham has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but O Leary can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

O Leary wants to control from the top but Cunnigham keeps moving.
Cunnigham wants to sweep but no luck.

Cunnigham has his foot on O Leary's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. O Leary works his way back into a safe position though.

O Leary must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Cunnigham is trying to hold O Leary in close to prevent damage but O Leary has managed to pass into half guard.

Cunnigham is trying to defend against the ground and pound but O Leary scores with a couple of nice shots.
Cunnigham tries to roll over but O Leary keeps him under control.
Cunnigham is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of O Leary's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take O Leary's back!

O Leary looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Even with his hooks in, Cunnigham manages to miss with strikes from the back.
Cunnigham trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

O Leary is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Cunnigham gets his way!

Cunnigham has his arm under O Leary's chin here. Game over son! Cunnigham squeezes tightly and O Leary is forced to tap out!
