Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, White Trash! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Greatest Ever! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Taro Takaoka and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ever wants to clinch. Ever decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Ever misses with a head shot. Trash uses the momentum to regain guard. Trash might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Ever wants to pass the guard but Trash is keeping the position. Trash wants to get back to his feet but Ever is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Ever throwing strikes but missing. Ever stops Trash from standing up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ever chips away with some ground and pound. Ever is looking to work some ground and pound but Trash has wrist control. Trash wants to stand up but Ever is controlling him. Ever stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Trash swivels though and keeps the full guard. Ever throws a big elbow that misses. Ever loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Trash working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Ever. Ever with a nice head shot there. Ever throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Trash works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Ever looking to sit in guard and control but Trash gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ever can do anything to dispel that myth. Trash throws an elbow that misses. Ever uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Trash's guard. Nice move by Ever!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Trash utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Ever loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Ever prevents Trash from getting back to his feet. Trash is breathing heavily. Ever works over Trash with some ground and pound from guard. Ever working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Ever is looking to work some ground and pound but Trash has wrist control. Ever throwing strikes but missing. Ever landing with the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ever accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Ever must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Ever trying to control but Trash is working from the bottom. Ever with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Trash avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Ever trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Ever wants to control from the top but Trash keeps moving. Ever scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Ever is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Ever landing some decent shots from guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Trash has momentary wrist control but Ever slips an elbow through the middle.
Trash is rocked! Ever gets to his feet and stands over Trash, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Trash felt that one! Ever unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Trash from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Greatest Ever! In his post fight interview, Greatest Ever started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
