Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Willie Cates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lilb ss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Willie Cates! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lilb ss! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cates changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. ss looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Cates tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. ss is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Cates decides to stand up, so the ref orders ss to his feet. ss stuffs the takedown. ss gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cates would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cates wants to pass the guard but ss is keeping the position. Cates won't allow ss to get back to his feet. Cates trying to control the position from guard on top but ss is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Willie Cates wasn't doing enough on the ground. Cates keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Cates keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cates closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming ss to the mat! ss manages to get full guard. Cates passes ss's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Cates wants to control but ss is keeping him busy. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Cates is looking to stall here but ss recovers full guard. ss can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cates controls the pace.

Willie Cates has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. ss shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. ss wants to free his trapped foot but Cates is holding on for dear life with his legs. ss looks gassed! Cates is looking for a sweep. ss is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. ss is taking a breather. Cates says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. ss should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. ss's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's four minutes gone in the round. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Lilb ss was stalling too much, according to the referee. Cates manages to get an easy takedown there - catching ss on his heels. He'll look to pass ss's guard now, I'm sure. Cates loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Cates stops ss from standing up. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Willie Cates. Cates is looking to score with low kicks. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

ss shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Cates manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. ss sitting in guard here, content to control. ss preventing the sweep. Cates looking to control.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. ss avoids the attempt from Cates to control.

Cates wants to control but ss is having none of it. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. ss controlling his opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. ss avoids the attempt from Cates to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. ss controlling his opponent.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. ss throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cates's waist but Cates gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing ss off to one side. No luck for ss with that takedown attempt. ss changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cates tries to avoid it but ss manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cates to the ground. Cates escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Willie Cates has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lilb ss. Cates scores with a nice body kick.
Cates throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. ss was covering up waiting for the punch and Cates finishes the takedown easily into guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Cates throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as ss works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Cates will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. ss working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Cates. Cates works a leg free and moves into half guard. Cates trying to mount his opponent but ss defends it. Cates trying to control from half guard but ss is working away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Willie Cates has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. ss shoots in and bounces Cates off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. ss stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cates swivels though and keeps the full guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Cates being controlled here, momentarily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lilb ss showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Lilb ss wasn't active enough on the ground. Cates throws a low kick but ss avoids it. ss shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cates pinned against the cage. Cates gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. ss fails with the takedown.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A jab from Cates misses. Cates clinches with his opponent.

ss blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Stalling in the clinch from Cates.
ss changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Cates fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Willie Cates has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lilb ss. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from ss.
That's four minutes gone in the round. ss tries to sprawl but Cates drives through with a takedown into half guard. Cates is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Cates wants to lay and pray for a moment but ss keeps working. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Cates wants to stand but ss has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Lilb ss. I think ss has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
