Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Henry Hopkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akisame Koetsuji (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Koetsuji has chosen Monster as his entrance music. Akisame Koetsuji is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Henry Hopkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Akisame Koetsuji!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Kenichi Hosakawa and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koetsuji doesn't manage to clinch there - Hopkins circles away.
Hopkins throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Koetsuji looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Koetsuji tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Koetsuji closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Hopkins is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Hopkins missing with punches from the bottom.
Koetsuji sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Hopkins defending well though.

Koetsuji wants to work for an arm triangle but Hopkins is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Koetsuji is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Hopkins is doing well to control the position and prevent Koetsuji from advancing to side control.
Koetsuji lands with a punch from half guard.
Hopkins is staying active underneath Koetsuji, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Koetsuji is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Koetsuji is trying to control the action in half guard but Hopkins is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Koetsuji looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hopkins is fending him off so far but Koetsuji persists. Nope, Hopkins circles away and we're back to standing.
Akisame Koetsuji seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Koetsuji shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Hopkins defends it nicely.
Henry Hopkins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Akisame Koetsuji.
A cross from Hopkins lands.
Hopkins leaves Koetsuji with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Koetsuji shoots in looking for a takedown but Hopkins manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Koetsuji's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Koetsuji walks into a jab.
Henry Hopkins is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Koetsuji wants to clinch.
Koetsuji gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Koetsuji dives in and grabs Hopkins's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hopkins pushes down on Koetsuji's head and hops out.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hopkins lands a nice shot to the body.
Koetsuji will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Hopkins lands a big uppercut and Koetsuji crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Koetsuji looks OK. Hopkins waves Koetsuji back to his feet!


Koetsuji is rocked!
Hopkins moves in close and cracks Koetsuji with a massive right hand! Koetsuji, frozen momentarily in time, tumbles to the canvas, already out cold! A brutal knockout by Hopkins!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Henry Hopkins!
During a confident post fight interview, Henry Hopkins thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
