Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kublai Congo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ed Buchanen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Congo comes to the cage accompanied by Genetic For Terror. Buchanen has chosen Stranglehold as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
19 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kublai Congo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ed Buchanen!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Columbo Gatti and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A good leg kick by Congo.
Buchanen misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Congo ducks under a wild hook from Buchanen.
Buchanen misses with a series of wild punches.
Congo stuffs the takedown.
Buchanen looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Congo misses with an uppercut. Buchanen saw that one coming.
Congo uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Buchanen checks a leg kick.

Buchanen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Congo sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Buchanen somewhat.
Kublai Congo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ed Buchanen.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Buchanen crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Congo - the referee stops the clock and Buchanen gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Congo. Buchanen manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Congo fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Buchanen manages to avoid it.

Congo shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Buchanen sprawls well. Buchanen wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Congo gets slowly back to his feet.

Congo wants to pass the guard but Buchanen is keeping the position.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Congo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Congo wants to advance to full mount but Buchanen doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Congo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Buchanen swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Congo is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Buchanen pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Congo cracks Buchanen with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Congo bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Buchanen's head backwards.

Buchanen moves forwards but Congo connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Congo tries a low kick but Buchanen avoids it.

and Buchanen counters with a good, hard body kick but Congo shrugs it off.
Congo slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Buchanen uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Congo.
Congo misses with a low kick as Buchanen jumps back.
Congo shoots in for a takedown but Buchanen shows good takedown defense.
Buchanen takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Buchanen shoots in looking for a takedown. Congo tries to sprawl out of it but Buchanen keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Congo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Congo comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Kublai Congo is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Congo seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Buchanen for as long as he can get away with.
Congo's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
