Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Randy Cote (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Cam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Randy Cote!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Cam!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cote shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Cote showed some decent athleticism there.

Cam is staying active underneath Cote, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

We're going to have a standup here because Randy Cote wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Cote closes the distance and clinches.

and Cote counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Cam's guard now.
This has been an exciting period of action!

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Cote pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cam is keeping the position for now.
Cam really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cote. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Randy Cote just wasn't active enough.
Cam looks to clinch

and Cote counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Cote.
Cam wants to stand and escape but Cote is having none of it.
Cote looking to sit in guard and control but Cam gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Cote jumps guard but Cam turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Cote dives in and grabs Cam's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cam pushes down on Cote's head and hops out.

and Cote counters with a nice double leg into side control. Cam won't be happy with that.

Cote circles away from the clinch attempt.
Cam tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Cote manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cote decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Cam, up you get!
Cam moves to clinch but Cote breaks away

and Cote counters with a single leg into guard. Cam didn't expect that.
Cote wants to control from the top but Cam keeps moving.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Randy Cote.
Cam tries to clinch but Cote moves out of range.

Cote swats away the attempt to clinch by Cam.
Cam doesn't manage to clinch there - Cote circles away.
Cam is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

and Cote counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Cam!
