The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn tries to clinch but Adeleye is having none of it.
Adeleye throws a right hand that Penn ducks under and follows up with a left that Penn also avoids with ease.
Penn slips a jab from Adeleye.
Penn misses with a jab, cross combination.
Adeleye tries to bum rush Penn with a series of wild strikes but Penn uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Adeleye swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Adeleye throws a jab when Penn was well out of range.
Penn walks into a left hand.
Nelson Adeleye seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Adeleye fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Penn throws a combination that misses
and Adeleye makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Adeleye throws a jab when Penn was well out of range.
Adeleye lands a body shot.
Penn wants to clinch
and Adeleye counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Penn thinking.
Adeleye drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Adeleye wants to control from the top but Penn keeps moving.
Adeleye drops back, looking for a kneebar! Penn looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Penn looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Penn!
Adeleye is breathing heavily.

Penn wants to stand but Adeleye has his arm trapped.
Adeleye regains half guard.
Adeleye makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Adeleye.
Penn trying to stand up but can't free himself from Adeleye's guard.
Adeleye has his foot on Penn's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Penn works his way back into a safe position though.

Penn wants to stand but Adeleye has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Adeleye is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Penn frees his head nicely. Oh but Adeleye has switched to an armbar! Penn is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
