Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bobby Gunn!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Leandro Rodrigues and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gunn shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Castro pinned against the cage. Castro gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Gunn looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Gunn clinches up against the cage.

Gunn is trying to trip Castro. He has hold of a leg but Castro is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Gunn persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Castro is pulling down on Gunn's head to control his posture.
Gunn wants to control from the top but Castro keeps moving.
Castro has his hands on Gunn's head, controlling the position.
Gunn tries to stand but Castro is controlling from the bottom.

Castro working for a triangle but Gunn defends it easily.
Gunn wants to control from the top but Castro keeps moving.

Gunn trying to stand up but can't free himself from Castro's guard.
Castro has his hands on Gunn's head, controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gunn loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Castro is pulling down on Gunn's head. It's preventing any offense from Gunn, at least for the moment.
Castro keeping moving, preventing Gunn from controlling successfully.
Castro has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Gunn wants to stand but Castro has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gunn wants to stand and escape but instead Castro has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Castro controls from within his opponent's guard.
Castro pushes down on Gunn's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gunn missing with punches from the bottom.
Gunn wants to improve his position but Castro is controlling well.
Castro uses his free foot to push down on Gunn's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Gunn.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Castro jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Gunn manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Gunn is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Gunn tries to bench press Castro off him but Castro keeps the position.
Gunn is not content to let Castro control the position.
Castro is breathing heavily.
Gunn is looking to reverse the position.
Gunn wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Castro avoids the strikes from the bottom by Gunn.
Gunn is trying to improve his position.
Castro gets to mount! Gunn was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Gunn flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Gunn is looking to improve his position but Castro isn't that keen on the idea.
Castro content just to control the position here.
Gunn wants to control but Castro is having none of it.
Gunn is trying to escape the mount.
Castro trying to control but he's not successful this time.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Gunn is looking to get to half guard.
Gunn looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fidel Castro dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Gunn tries a head kick but it misses.
A right-left combo lands from Gunn.
Gunn fails to land the takedown.
Gunn tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Castro swivels and escapes.
Gunn throws a nice looking combination but Castro bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Castro looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gunn is fending him off so far but Castro persists. Nope, Gunn circles away and we're back to standing.
Gunn fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Fidel Castro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bobby Gunn.
Gunn is looking to clinch but Castro is avoiding it.
Gunn scores with a one two! Castro had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.


Castro is rocked!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Castro fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Oh Castro is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gunn cracks Castro with a left hook right on the temple and Castro goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Gunn lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Castro is OK!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Bobby Gunn!
