Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Butane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Po Ping (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ping comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Kung Fu Fighting kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Po Ping!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Butane swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Butane misses with a double jab
and Ping counters with a leg kick.
Butane throws a right and a left that both miss.
Butane really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Butane's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Butane duly obliges.


It looks like Po Ping has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Ping gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Butane prevents the takedown attempt.
Ping can't get the takedown.

Ping turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Butane on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Butane tries to get out of the position.

Ping wants to lay and pray for a moment but Butane keeps working.
Ping has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Butane is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Ping asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Butane looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ping is one step ahead there.
Butane can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Ping controls the pace.

Butane has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ping can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Butane is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ping defends well.

Ping is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Ping stands and steps away. Butane gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

and Ping counters with a nice double leg into side control. Butane won't be happy with that.

Butane is looking to regain half guard here but Ping keeps moving and retains side control.
Butane is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Ping is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
The referee warns Butane that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Ping moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Butane has worked his arm free - good work by Butane!
Butane knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ping on the ground.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Butane is not content to let Ping control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Butane falls off balance throwing a combination

and Ping counters with a single leg into guard. Butane didn't expect that.
Ping showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Ping connects with a couple of short punches.
Ping trying to control but Butane is working from the bottom.
Po Ping has got the better of the ground game so far.
Ping postures up and lands a big shot to Butane's brow.
Butane is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ping got a little sloppy there for a moment and Butane has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ping has managed to get both his arms back between Butane's legs - danger averted.
Butane will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Ping makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Ping trying to control the position from guard on top but Butane is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ping gets to his feet. Butane looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Butane will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Butane drops Ping with a beautiful combination! Ping stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Butane is looking for the KO!

Ping throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Butane's waist but Butane gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ping off to one side.

and Ping counters with a nice body kick.
Ping shoots in for a double leg but Butane sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Ping shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Butane pinned against the cage. Butane gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jack Butane has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Po Ping.

Ping has taken the fight to the clinch.

Butane is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Ping is defending well.

Ping wants to finish this one by submission but Butane is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Ping.

Ping jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Butane manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Butane is trying to get back to half guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Butane wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Po Ping showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Ping takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Ping is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Butane doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ping.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Ping takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Ping working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Ping looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Ping gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Ping works on Butane's body with a couple of short punches.
Butane is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Ping passes into side control, despite Butane's attempt to control the position.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ping gets to mount! Butane was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Butane in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Ping cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Ping takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Ping prevents Butane from getting the reversal.
Ping has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Butane's face.

Jack Butane has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Po Ping is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

I've got Ping winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
