PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dillion Brody (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Estep (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Estep's choice of entrance music: Courageous. Brody has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Brody is breathing heavily. Estep tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Estep manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Brody on his heels. He'll look to pass Brody's guard now, I'm sure. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Estep advances to half guard. Estep looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Brody with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Brody is trying to stand up here but Estep is controlling him well. Estep is taking a breather. Brody says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Estep looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Brody with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Estep perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Estep in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Brody tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Estep!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Brian Estep! Brian Estep very nearly forgot to thank Nature's Edge Nutrition amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
