Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Bones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Slam Dunk! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bones throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Dunk counters with a good, hard body kick but Bones shrugs it off. Bones feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Dunk's calf. Dunk throws a low kick but Bones avoids it. Dunk avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Bones throws a series of punches but Dunk avoids them all with ease. Bones throws a leg kick and Dunk counters with a nice double leg into half guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Dunk sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Bones defending well though. Dunk slips a nice elbow through Bones's hands, connecting with Bones's forehead. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Dunk is pressing down on Bones's thigh, looking to free his foot. Bones is holding on for now. Dunk not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. That's one minute gone in the round. Dunk with the ground and pound but Bones uses the opportunity to regain guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bones being controlled here, momentarily. Dunk with a flurry of punches that miss. Bones working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Dunk. Bones utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Dunk postures up in Bones's guard and throws a big left but Bones blocks it. Dunk trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Dunk trying to control the position from guard on top but Bones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Dunk stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bones swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dunk missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Dunk postures up in Bones's guard and throws a big left but Bones blocks it. Dunk trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Bones is breathing heavily. Bones keeping moving, preventing Dunk from controlling successfully. Bones knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dunk on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bones avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dunk landing with the ground and pound. Dunk trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Dunk makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Dunk postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Dunk is pushing down on Bones's leg trying to pass to half guard. Bones is fighting to maintain full guard but Dunk has managed to sneak the leg through. Dunk works his foot free and advances to mount. BOOM! Dunk connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Dunk pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Dunk has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dunk drops a big elbow. That's hurt Bones! More shots from Dunk and the ref steps in! The fight is over!
