And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, James McDonovan!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Micheangelo Fripello and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice shot lands for McDonovan.
McDonovan pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Tulfo back to the ropes. McDonovan follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.


It looks like Erwin Tulfo has been cut.
Tulfo looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Good shot there by McDonovan.
McDonovan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tulfo swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Tulfo swats away the attempt to clinch by McDonovan.
McDonovan lands a high kick!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
McDonovan tried to score with a low kick but Tulfo checks it.
McDonovan showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Tulfo.
Tulfo looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Tulfo pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Tulfo swats away the attempt to clinch by McDonovan.

McDonovan dodges the punch combination from Tulfo.
James McDonovan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

McDonovan walks into a jab.
Tulfo circles away from the clinch attempt.
A clash of legs there as McDonovan blocks the low kick.
McDonovan tries to clinch there but Tulfo circles away.
McDonovan throws a sloppy head kick and Tulfo moves out of range easily.
Tulfo throws a right hand that McDonovan ducks under and follows up with a left that McDonovan also avoids with ease.
McDonovan tries to clinch but Tulfo moves out of range.
McDonovan tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Tulfo paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Tulfo throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
McDonovan getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Tulfo takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Tulfo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A punch lands to the side of Tulfo 's head but he takes it in his stride.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Tulfo is sent reeling backwards by a solid uppercut. He barely regains his balance and McDonovan moves in for the kill throwing a continuous barrage of punches that force the ref to step in.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James McDonovan!
