The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Du Hast feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Wales knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Du Hast on the ground. Du Hast wants to pass the guard but Wales is keeping the position. Wales throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Du Hast stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wales swivels though and keeps the full guard. Wales might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Wales wants to sweep here but Du Hast controlling him for the moment. Du Hast in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Wales keeping moving, preventing Du Hast from controlling successfully. Du Hast missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Wales misses with a body shot.
Du Hast has a takedown stuffed. Wales jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Du Hast. Du Hast is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. An elbow from Du Hast crashes against the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wales wants to get back to his feet but Du Hast drags him back down. Wales is breathing heavily. Wales tries to get back to half guard but can't. Du Hast wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wales keeps working. Wales is looking to regain half guard here but Du Hast keeps moving and retains side control. Du Hast cracks Wales with a big right hand but Wales just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Du Hast is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Wales has escaped the position, nice work there. Du Hast in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Wales is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
