Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dakodo Mandaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trey Whatley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dakodo Mandaka! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Trey Whatley! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Damien Edna and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mandaka scores with a nice strike. Whatley misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Mandaka avoids the body shot from Whatley.
Mandaka scores with a jab. Mandaka tries to clinch there but Whatley circles away.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Mandaka enables Whatley to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mandaka manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Whatley throws a big elbow that misses. Whatley missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Whatley wants to stand but Mandaka has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Whatley content to stall in guard here.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Trey Whatley hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Mandaka misses with a two punch combination.
Mandaka throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Whatley. Whatley bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. A lull in the action here. Whatley wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mandaka keeps working.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mandaka is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Whatley's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Whatley looks to land a strike but Mandaka avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Whatley controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Trey Whatley hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Whatley misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Mandaka.
Whatley misses with a wild body shot. Mandaka throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Whatley's head. Mandaka wants to clinch. Mandaka misses with the combination.
Mandaka really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Whatley throws a nice looking combination but Mandaka bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mandaka tries to clinch up. Whatley throws a series of punches but Mandaka moves out of range. Whatley throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Whatley shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mandaka napping and manages to drive through into side control! Whatley wants to control but Mandaka is keeping him busy. Mandaka manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Trey Whatley dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

It looks like Trey Whatley has been cut. Mandaka has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Whatley finds it's way round the side to connect with Mandaka's head. Whatley swings for the body but Mandaka moves out of range.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Mandaka checks a leg kick. Jab by Mandaka. Whatley closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Mandaka quickly recovers to half guard. Whatley is trying to control. Mandaka wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Mandaka trying to control here.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Whatley seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Trey Whatley. Whatley swats away the attempt to clinch by Mandaka. Mandaka misses with a wild combination.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Dakodo Mandaka wasn't doing enough on the ground. Mandaka tries to clinch there but Whatley circles away.
Mandaka scores with a decent looking hook. Whatley shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Whatley prevents Mandaka from improving his position. Trey Whatley has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Whatley is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Trey Whatley was stalling too much, according to the referee. Whatley looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Whatley throwing strikes but missing.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Whatley circles away from the clinch attempt.
Mandaka lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Whatley drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Whatley throwing shots but missing, from side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Trey Whatley showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Trey Whatley's cut. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Whatley fails with a takedown attempt. Whatley throws an overhand right that lands on Mandaka's shoulder, as Mandaka tries to avoid the shot. Mandaka tries to clinch but Whatley is having none of it. Whatley misses with a looping left. Mandaka tries to clinch there but Whatley circles away.

He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Mandaka's half guard. Whatley wants to advance to full mount but Mandaka doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Mandaka trying to control the position.

Dakodo Mandaka has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Whatley looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Mandaka! Mandaka regains half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Whatley is thwarting Mandaka's attempts to control the position. Whatley not doing much here.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Trey Whatley wasn't active enough on the ground. Whatley tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mandaka was well out of range. Poor timing from Whatley. Whatley looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mandaka is fending him off so far but Whatley persists. Nope, Mandaka circles away and we're back to standing. Mandaka will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Dakodo Mandaka has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Trey Whatley is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Mandaka tries to clinch there but Whatley circles away.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Trey Whatley. I've got Whatley winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
