Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz's entrance music is Jay Z-Dirt on ya shouldas. A fine choice. Nick Diaz is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 9 - 1, fighting out of London, Nick Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark Thomas!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Glass and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Thomas was well out of range. Poor timing from Diaz.
Nick Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Diaz misses with a body kick.
Diaz misses with a body shot.
Diaz is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Thomas.

It looks like Mark Thomas has been cut.
Diaz throws a sloppy head kick
and Thomas counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Thomas throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Diaz counters with a two punch combo.
Diaz fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Thomas manages to avoid it.

Thomas closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Thomas lands in his opponent's guard.

Thomas is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Diaz has his foot on Thomas's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Thomas works his way back into a safe position though.
Diaz is pulling down on Thomas's head. It's preventing any offense from Thomas, at least for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Diaz had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Thomas defends it easily.

Thomas throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Diaz works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Thomas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Diaz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Thomas accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

and Thomas counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Thomas throws a big right hand that misses.

Diaz has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Thomas can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Diaz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Thomas doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Thomas manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

That was a close round but I would say that Nick Diaz will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Thomas tries to score a power double leg takedown but Diaz sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Thomas somewhat.
