7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Chris Griffin! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Steven Brown and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Decent striking displayed by Cruz there. Cruz fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Cruz swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Griffin counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Griffin is looking for a kimura but Cruz is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Griffin to get the leverage. Griffin is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Cruz has managed to free his arm - good work. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Cruz wants to get back to his feet.

Cruz throws a series of punches but Griffin avoids them all with ease. Frank Cruz is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Cruz throws a nice looking combination but Griffin bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Griffin throws a one two combo.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A cross from Cruz lands. Griffin is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Griffin darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Griffin is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Cruz defends it well. Griffin in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Cruz tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Griffin!
