Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ilja Vasuta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stanislav Valentinov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Vasuta might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to E.S. Posthumus Unstoppable . Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ilja Vasuta! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Stanislav Valentinov! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Mauricio Rocha and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Valentinov misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Vasuta walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Valentinov checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Vasuta changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Valentinov tries to avoid it but Vasuta manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Valentinov to the ground. Valentinov escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Vasuta looking to score a takedown here. Valentinov is defending well but Vasuta drives through and ends up in Valentinov's guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Vasuta won't allow Valentinov to get back to his feet. Vasuta engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Vasuta missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Vasuta stands up from guard. Let's bang! Valentinov tries to close the distance and clinch but Vasuta swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Vasuta shoots in but Valentinov avoids the takedown attempt easily. Ilja Vasuta seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Vasuta closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Vasuta lands in his opponent's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vasuta tries to free his leg and advance position but Valentinov is retaining full guard. Vasuta drops back looking for a leg! Valentinov is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Valentinov manages to kick Vasuta off! Vasuta jumps back into Valentinov's guard. Vasuta stands up from Valentinov's guard - Vasuta perhaps looking for a knockout. Vasuta fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ilja Vasuta. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vasuta misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Vasuta manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Valentinov on his heels. He'll look to pass Valentinov's guard now, I'm sure. Vasuta trying to control but Valentinov is working from the bottom. Valentinov looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Vasuta has picked Valentinov up and slammed him! Valentinov can't keep hold of the triangle and Vasuta manages to pass to side control! Vasuta trying to control the position but Valentinov is working away. Vasuta is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Valentinov is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vasuta tries to advance position but instead Valentinov slips a leg back in to half guard. Valentinov is looking to control Vasuta's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Valentinov avoid being mounted? Vasuta is controlling the pace.
Vasuta is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Valentinov has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vasuta is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Valentinov is trying to escape the mount but Vasuta keeps good control and instead manages to take Valentinov's back.
Valentinov defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Vasuta's arms. Vasuta is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Valentinov knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Valentinov for a finish.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Vasuta controlling from the back. Vasuta is looking for a rear naked choke here but Valentinov reverses the position brilliantly into Vasuta's guard!
Vasuta uses the cage to get back to his feet.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Valentinov misses with a head kick.
Vasuta shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Valentinov sprawls well. Valentinov wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Vasuta gets slowly back to his feet. Valentinov takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Vasuta throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Vasuta fails to land the takedown.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. Vasuta gets the takedown into side control. Vasuta working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Vasuta thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Vasuta wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Valentinov, who protects the arm well. You can see the frustration on Valentinov's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Vasuta working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Vasuta swings around for an armbar but Valentinov sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Vasuta's guard. Vasuta is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Valentinov is aware though and is defending well. Valentinov wants to stand and escape but instead Vasuta has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Vasuta postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ilja Vasuta dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Vasuta clinches. Vasuta is looking to take this one to the mat. Vasuta looking for a takedown. Valentinov is trying to break free. Vasuta keeps control of Valentinov as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Valentinov is looking to break free of the clinch but Vasuta has double underhooks. A frustrated look appears on Valentinov's face as he tries to break the clinch. Valentinov looking to throw knees to the head but Vasuta is blocking nicely.

Vasuta gets a trip takedown into half guard. Vasuta is looking for a kimura but Valentinov is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Vasuta to get the leverage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vasuta is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Vasuta is working for a submission of some sort.
Vasuta is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Valentinov can do to turn this around? Vasuta is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Valentinov defends it well. Vasuta thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Valentinov's head.

Valentinov could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Vasuta has cracked it and Valentinov is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Vasuta!
