The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tsakada misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Tsakada is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Tsakada throws the left hand but Xocoyotzin avoids the punch easily.
Tsakada loads up on a big right hand but Xocoyotzin slips the punch.
Good standup being displayed there by Xocoyotzin as he connects with a hook.
Xocoyotzin throws a leg kick but Tsakada sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Tsakada uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Xocoyotzin.
Tsakada swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Tsakada misses with an uppercut. Xocoyotzin saw that one coming.

Xocoyotzin is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Tsakada to keep the fight standing.
Xocoyotzin tries a knee to the head but Tsakada blocks it.
Xocoyotzin goes for a takedown attempt but Tsakada pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Tsakada gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Xocoyotzin to score an easy takedown into full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tsakada is on top in guard.

Xocoyotzin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Tsakada doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Tsakada manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Xocoyotzin has his foot on Tsakada's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tsakada works his way back into a safe position though.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Xocoyotzin is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Tsakada defends well.
