The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

meridius is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Bjorgensen reverses the position - he's now on top in meridius's guard.
meridius is trying to hold Bjorgensen in close to prevent damage but Bjorgensen has managed to pass into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
meridius is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Bjorgensen jumps into side control!

Bjorgensen looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Bjorgensen is working to tighten is grip on meridius's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. meridius has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Bjorgensen is really squeezing tight and eventually meridius passes out! Bjorgensen breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
