Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dante Melendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kensi Himura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Himura has chosen My time is now as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Kensi Himura told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dante Melendez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kensi Himura! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Wagner Zegers and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Himura drops his hands momentarily and Melendez takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Melendez throws out a token jab with nothing on it. A lazy left from Melendez finds it's target. Melendez connects with a body shot that sends Himura's belly button to the back. Melendez connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Himura's hands. Melendez bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Himura's head backwards. Himura rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Melendez moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Melendez with a jab. Melendez ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Himura rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Melendez moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Melendez lands with a straight right. Himura didn't see that one coming. Melendez displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Melendez scores with a hook to the body. Himura takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Melendez tests Himura's chin there with a solid looking shot. Melendez waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Himura. Melendez works the jab nicely. Himura throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Melendez throws a hook to the side of Himura's head but Himura sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Melendez fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Himura gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Himura is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Melendez thows a body shot but no joy. Himura misses with a head kick.
Dante Melendez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Jab from Melendez. Himura pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Melendez throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Himura takes one to the chin there. Nice shot by Melendez.
Himura is rocked! Melendez pounces like a tiger and cracks Himura with a vicious hook! Himura is down but not out! Melendez follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Dante Melendez! A relieved looking Dante Melendez thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
