Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Petr Vondrachek!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Patrick Starr!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Tarja Halkonen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vondrachek is looking to clinch but Starr is avoiding it.
Vondrachek connects with a crisp jab.
Starr is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Starr takes one to the chin there.
Vondrachek throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Starr on the side of the head.
Vondrachek fails with an attempt to clinch.
Starr takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Starr tries to close the distance and clinch up but Vondrachek swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Starr clinches with his opponent.

Starr successfully pulls guard.
Vondrachek trying to control the position from guard on top but Starr is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Vondrachek passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Vondrachek is chipping away with strikes.
Vondrachek working the ground and pound.
Starr sneaks back into half guard.
Well, if Vondrachek is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Starr gets full guard.

Starr had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Vondrachek is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Starr Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Vondrachek's back instead.
Starr doesn't have the hooks in and Vondrachek manages to turn into his guard.
Vondrachek wants to control from the top but Starr keeps moving.
Starr working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Vondrachek.

Starr looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Starr keeping moving, preventing Vondrachek from controlling successfully.
Vondrachek forces his way into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Vondrachek seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Vondrachek tries to pass to full mount but Starr defends it.
Starr has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Vondrachek is working away from the top position though.
Starr wants to improve his position but Vondrachek is controlling well.

Vondrachek passes the guard and advances to mount!
Vondrachek lands a big shot there that rocks Starr but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Starr is desperately trying to improve his position but Vondrachek has a good base and remains in mount.
Vondrachek fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Vondrachek has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Starr's face.
Vondrachek lands a nice shot to the head.
Vondrachek manages to capitalize on a mistake by Starr to take his back!
Vondrachek not allowing Starr to control his hands.
Vondrachek punishes Starr with strikes from the back mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vondrachek doesn't have the hooks in and Starr manages to turn into his guard.
Starr throwing strikes but missing.
Starr controlling from the top position.
Vondrachek has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Starr has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Vondrachek to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Starr is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Vondrachek pulls down on the head and he's put Starr to sleep! This one is all over!
