PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rock Lobster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Por Pramuk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lobster comes into the arena with The Final Sacrifice blaring out of the sound system. Pramuk is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Fight!. Por Pramuk will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rock Lobster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Por Pramuk!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lobster drives through and clinches with Pramuk against the cage.
Lobster changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Pramuk fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Lobster bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Lobster is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Pramuk knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lobster tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Lobster is looking to take a break and control but Pramuk is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Pramuk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lobster. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Lobster is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pramuk is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lobster lands a decent elbow from side control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lobster throws an elbow but Pramuk slips to the side and avoids it well.
Lobster has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Lobster tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lobster has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rock Lobster dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


A head kick misses from Pramuk.

Lobster closes the distance and clinches.
Lobster tries to throw a body punch but Pramuk avoids it by throwing Lobster back against the cage.

Pramuk misses with a knee to the head.
Pramuk looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Lobster tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Pramuk's elbow.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pramuk postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Lobster is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Rock Lobster overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Lobster manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pramuk manages to get himself to full guard.
Lobster lands a couple of digs.
Lobster with a flurry of punches that miss.

Lobster is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Lobster wants to control from the top but Pramuk keeps moving.
Pramuk wants to stand but Lobster is controlling the position.

Lobster works over Pramuk with some ground and pound from guard.

Lobster thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Lobster distracts Pramuk with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Lobster trying to control but Pramuk is working from the bottom.
Lobster lands a couple of elbows.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pramuk keeping moving, preventing Lobster from controlling successfully.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lobster advances position into side control!

Lobster has hold of Pramuk's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Pramuk tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Lobster cranks the arm and Pramuk screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Pramuk, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Rock Lobster!
Rock Lobster seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
