Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, George Droop! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Talib Kweli! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Sosuke Kotani and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Droop slaps away a takedown attempt from Kweli, before circling back to the center of the mat. Decent striking displayed by Droop there. Droop throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Droop misses with a double jab
and Kweli counters with a two punch combo. Kweli tries a head kick but it misses.
Kweli shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Droop sprawls well. Droop wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kweli gets slowly back to his feet. Talib Kweli seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kweli tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Droop swivels and escapes. George Droop has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Talib Kweli. Kweli tries to keep at a distance but Droop has taken the fight into the clinch. Droop lands with a short head shot on the inside. Kweli wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Droop really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Kweli breaks the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round. A swing and a miss from Kweli. Droop lands the left hand. Droop fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Droop stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Droop wants it to stay on the feet. Kweli fails with a takedown attempt. Kweli shoots for a takedown but Droop saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Kweli throws a head kick that misses. Droop moves into the clinch successfully.
Droop misses with a short punch on the inside. Droop stalls. Kweli blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kweli is trying to break the clinch but Droop has him pressed against the cage. Droop taking a break, stalling in the clinch.

Droop tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Kweli is trying to break the clinch but Droop is controlling him. A battle for position here, against the cage. Kweli working hard to break the clinch. Kweli blocks an elbow strike. Droop stalls. Droop with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kweli manages to break the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice sprawl there from Droop as Kweli shoots in. Kweli dives in and grabs Droop's left leg, looking for a takedown. Droop pushes down on Kweli's head and hops out. Kweli misses with a takedown attempt - Droop sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Droop throws a series of punches but Kweli moves out of range. Kweli pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Droop throws a jab but it's blocked by Kweli. Kweli will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Droop jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Droop gets in close and instigates a clinch. Droop has Kweli pushed against the cage. Droop tries to throw a body punch but Kweli avoids it by throwing Droop back against the cage. Kweli is trying to break the clinch but Droop is controlling him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Droop lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Kweli decides to pull guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Droop controlling from the top position. Droop postures up in Kweli's guard and throws a big left but Kweli blocks it. Droop working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Droop wants to control from the top but Kweli keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Droop passes easily into side control. Nice work. Kweli is trying to control Droop's posture but Droop avoids it.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Droop is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kweli is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Kweli gets back to half guard. Kweli is looking to escape. Droop content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Droop not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Kweli is trying to maintain the position but Droop is very close to passing his half guard. Droop misses with a head shot. Kweli uses the momentum to regain guard. Kweli wants to stand up but Droop is controlling him. Droop is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Droop stops Kweli from standing up. Droop postures up in Kweli's guard and throws a big left but Kweli blocks it. Droop wants to control from the top but Kweli keeps moving. Droop seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The ref stands the fighters back up because George Droop just wasn't active enough. Kweli looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Droop throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. Kweli tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Droop takes a kick to the side of the head. Droop lands with a nice body punch. Kweli gets a takedown into half guard. Droop tries to roll over but Kweli keeps him under control. Kweli moves nicely into side control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Droop can't do much from the bottom here. Kweli is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Droop knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Droop is not content to let Kweli control the position. Droop is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Kweli off and has taken his back! Droop is looking for the choke from the back position but Kweli is controlling his hands well. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Droop avoiding Kweli 's attempts to control his hands. Droop missing with strikes from the back. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
George Droop dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

It looks like George Droop has been cut. Kweli looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Droop blocks a head kick by Kweli.
Droop scores with a jab. Kweli acknowledges it with a nod of the head. A punch combination from Droop misses. Droop connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Kweli misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Kweli shoots in looking for a takedown. Droop tries to sprawl out of it but Kweli keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Droop manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Droop leaves Kweli with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. George Droop has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Talib Kweli. Kweli misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. A left lands for Droop. Kweli moves away from the strike by Droop. Droop misses with a head kick.
George Droop is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Droop scores with a head kick. Kweli tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Kweli shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Droop but Droop pushes him off and we're back to square one. Droop throws a shot to the body.
Droop is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Droop listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Kweli closes the distance and clinches up with Droop, looking for a takedown. Kweli pushes Droop against the cage but Droop circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Kweli is breathing heavily. Droop scores with the left hand. Kweli knows he should have avoided that one. Droop comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Kweli throws a head kick that misses. Droop digs a good body shot into Kweli's ribs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. No luck with that takedown attempt from Kweli. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kweli throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Droop shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Droop looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Droop can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kweli is looking to escape. Droop raining down shots from the mount! Droop throwing strikes here but Kweli is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Droop throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Droop sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Droop is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Kweli has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Droop thowing shots but they're missing. Kweli is squirming around, avoiding Droop's attempts to control the action. Kweli is trying to escape the mount.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Kweli holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Droop tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Droop cracks Kweli with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Droop is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Droop missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Droop has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Droop prevents Kweli from getting back to his feet.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Kweli walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. A head kick misses from Droop. Droop lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Droop shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kweli defends it nicely.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Droop throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Kweli pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Droop is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Droop with a jab. Kweli shoots in looking for a takedown. Droop tries to sprawl out of it but Kweli keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Droop manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Kweli fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Droop avoids it really well and circles away. Talib Kweli has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Droop closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
And that's the end of the fight! George Droop showed his dominance in that final round. Well Droop has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
