The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sparza throws a series of punches but Hetfield avoids them all with ease.

and Hetfield counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Sparza takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Sparza is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hetfield sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Hetfield lands a nice hook to Sparza's body. Sparza takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Oooooh!!! Hetfield has knocked Sparza down with a huge combo! Hetfield steps away and waves a wobbly Sparza back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

It looks like Tito Sparza has been cut.
Hetfield comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Hetfield changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Sparza takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Tito Sparza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
BOOM! Hetfield lands a beautiful left hook that drops Sparza. Sparza tries to recover but Hetfield is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Sparza lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Hetfield!
