Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Leon Bridges (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stefan Roosmalen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Stefan Roosmalen! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Russell Pearce and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roosmalen throws a nice looking combination but Bridges bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Bridges fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Roosmalen misses with a head kick.

It looks like Leon Bridges has been cut. Roosmalen avoids the body shot from Bridges.
Bridges looks to score with a jab to the body but Roosmalen is just out of range. Roosmalen thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Bridges if he has to take too many more of those.

Bridges tries to get back to half guard but can't. Bridges is working hard here to advance position. Roosmalen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Bridges tries to hold on but Roosmalen postures up. Roosmalen with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bridges is squirming around, avoiding Roosmalen's attempts to control the action. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Bridges is looking to improve his position but Roosmalen isn't that keen on the idea. Roosmalen throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bridges. Bridges shoots in but Roosmalen avoids the takedown attempt easily. Roosmalen dives in and grabs Bridges's left leg, looking for a takedown. Roosmalen throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Bridgess head. Roosmalen blocks a body shot from Bridges. Roosmalen content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Roosmalen lands an elbow that stopped Bridges in his tracks for a moment. Roosmalen is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Roosmalen is looking for a takedown. Bridges managing to block the knees to the body from Roosmalen.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Roosmalen lands a hook to the side of the head. Bridges pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. The fight moves into the clinch position. Bridges letting Roosmalen take a breather here. Roosmalen lands a nice elbow. Bridges is pressed up against the cage. Roosmalen has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Bridges down to the mat. Bridges avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Roosmalen swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Bridges wants to hold on but Roosmalen pushes him away. Bridges is squirming around, avoiding Roosmalen's attempts to control the action. Bridges wants to control but Roosmalen is having none of it. Roosmalen working for a submission but Bridges is keeping him at bay.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Roosmalen closes the distance and clinches up with Bridges, looking for a takedown. Roosmalen pushes Bridges against the cage but Bridges circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Bridges is looking to wear down Roosmalen with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Roosmalen will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Bridges works Roosmalen's body with a nice hook. Bridges scores with a jab to the head.

Roosmalen displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bridges. Bridges dives in and scores a takedown into Roosmalen's guard. Roosmalen keeping moving, preventing Bridges from controlling successfully. Roosmalen has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Leon Bridges has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Roosmalen keeping full guard, as Bridges tries to pass. Roosmalen looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Bridges trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Roosmalen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bridges's guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Stefan Roosmalen. Bridges tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Roosmalen is looking to slow Bridges down with leg kicks. Stefan Roosmalen seems to be getting the better of the standup. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bridges. Roosmalen controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Roosmalen wants to get back to full guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bridges trying to work for an americana but Roosmalen has managed to regain full guard.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Leon Bridges. Well Roosmalen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality.
