Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nathan Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Allen McNerdson! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, John Kavanagh and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McNerdson blocks a head kick by Jones.
Jones moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Jones lands a jab.
It looks like Allen McNerdson has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jones throws a series of punches but McNerdson avoids them all with ease. Jones misses with a double jab.
McNerdson walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Jones checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Jones gets in close and instigates a clinch. Jones breaks from the clinch.
Jones clinches up with McNerdson and pushes him back against the cage. Jones is looking to break free of the clinch but McNerdson has double underhooks. Jones unloads a knee to the mid-section. McNerdson looks gassed! McNerdson tries to work over Jones's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones avoiding damage as McNerdson throws knees to the body.
Jones tries to break free but McNerdson pushes him back against the cage. Jones trying to control the position but instead, McNerdson has worked for underhooks and has pushed Jones into the cage. McNerdson wants to stall.
McNerdson has Jones pressed against the cage, preventing Jones from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Jones escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jones throws a head kick but McNerdson moves out of range.

Jones closes the distance and pushes McNerdson back into the cage. A battle for position here, against the cage. McNerdson's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Both guys are working to get underhooks.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Jones lands with a kick to the ribs.
Left hook, right uppercut from Jones. Jones drives through and clinches with McNerdson against the cage.
Jones is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Jones lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Jones working hard to break the clinch. Jones breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Jones throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Jones scoring well with a low kick there.
Jones forces McNerdson back against the cage and clinches.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones is trying to break the clinch but McNerdson is controlling him. Jones escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nathan Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Whack! Jones lands a heavy head kick that drops McNerdson. The ref tackles Jones to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because McNerdson was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Nathan Jones! After winning the bout, Nathan Jones thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
