Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Adam Simpson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Carvalho!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Thiago Cunha and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simpson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Carvalho to the ground. Simpson is now in Carvalho's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Simpson tries to free his leg and advance position but Carvalho is retaining full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carvalho is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Carvalho looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Carvalho has his foot on Simpson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Simpson works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Carvalho is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Simpson is aware though and is defending well.

Simpson really is a fat lump.
Carvalho working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Simpson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Simpson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Simpson wants to control from the top but Carvalho keeps moving.
Simpson has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Carvalho to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Simpson is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Carvalho pulls down on the head and he's put Simpson to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Anderson Carvalho!
