The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Paul Tew and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva swinging wilding here.
Silva throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Silva misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Abbott avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Silva misses with a takedown attempt - Abbott sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Silva will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Silva.
Abbott blocks a head kick by Silva.
Abbott avoids a punch combination nicely.
Billy Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva throws a sloppy head kick and Abbott moves out of range easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Abbott is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Silva is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Abbott is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Silva knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Silva is looking to regain half guard here but Abbott keeps moving and retains side control.

Abbott is working to tighten is grip on Silva's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Silva has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Abbott is really squeezing tight and eventually Silva passes out! Abbott breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
