Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Wrestling Bot! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Juan Carlos Ortiz! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Hugh Johnson and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bot on the wrong end of a nice jab. Wrestling Bot seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ortiz throws a shot from downtown. Bot moves away and avoids it. Ortiz leaves Bot with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Bot fails to land the takedown. Ortiz lands a jab. Ortiz pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Bot takes a shot right to the bread basket. Bot shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ortiz pinned against the cage. Ortiz gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wrestling Bot. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bot ducks under a wild hook from Ortiz. Ortiz misses with an uppercut
and Bot decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Ortiz's guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bot drops back looking for a leg! Ortiz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ortiz manages to kick Bot off! Bot jumps back into Ortiz's guard. Bot in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bot wants to control from the top but Ortiz keeps moving. Bot has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Bot postures up and lands a big shot to Ortiz's brow. Bot with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Bot loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Bot chips away with some ground and pound. Bot landing with the ground and pound. Ortiz looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bot throws a big right hand that misses. Ortiz is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Bot dives into side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Bot is putting a hurting on Ortiz here, landing some big shots from side control. Bot working the ground and pound. Ortiz takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Bot advances to mount. Ortiz is wriggling around trying to escape.

Bot tries to control but Ortiz wriggling away. Bot with good strikes from the mount here! Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Bot scoring with strikes but Ortiz is staying in there. Bot lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Bot fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Ortiz is rocked! Bot takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Bot is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Ortiz can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bot with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Bot will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Bot is in the full mount, landing strikes. Ortiz tries to get back to half guard but can't. Bot breaks from Ortiz's wrist control and lands an elbow. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bot is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Ortiz is forced to tap! Great finish!
