Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, William Williamson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mick Jones! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, John Kavanagh and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Williamson works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Jones swats away the attempt to clinch by Williamson. Good shot there by Williamson.
It looks like Mick Jones has been cut. Jones moves away from the strike by Williamson. Williamson drops Jones with a right and a left! Williamson comes rushing in but Jones regains his composure and manages to keep Williamson in guard.
Jones is rocked! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Williamson preventing the sweep. Williamson lands a couple of decent looking shots. Jones looking for a guillotine here but Williamson defends easily.
Jones escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Williamson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Williamson stopping the sweep attempt from Jones. Williamson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williamson wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving. Williamson controlling from the top position. Jones throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jones has his foot on Williamson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Williamson works his way back into a safe position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Williamson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Williamson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Williamson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jones on the ground. Jones has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Williamson should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Jones has tightened it up now! Williamson should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
