Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Allie Potratz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nicholas Castle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Allie Potratz! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nicholas Castle! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Thiago Cunha and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Castle circles away from the clinch attempt.
Potratz is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Castle changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Potratz looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. A lull in the action here. Castle tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Potratz tries to escape but Castle is in control. Potratz is breathing heavily. Castle thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Potratz might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Castle stands up and we're back to a striking position. Castle keeps the fight on the outside. Castle throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Potratz's waist but Castle gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Castle off to one side. Castle shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Castle was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Castle get's back to his feet. Allie Potratz is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Castle tries for a takedown but Potratz sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Potratz misses with a series of wild punches.
Castle shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Potratz as he avoids it easily. Potratz comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Potratz throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Castle moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Castle closes this distance looking for a takedown but Potratz circles away. Castle looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Potratz is fending him off so far but Castle persists. Nope, Potratz circles away and we're back to standing. Potratz clinches with his opponent.
Castle escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Castle fails to land the takedown. Castle bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Castle is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Potratz has escaped the position, nice work there. Potratz is pushing Castle's head away, looking to escape. Castle manages to hold on to the position though. Castle trying to control the action but Potratz is working from the bottom. Castle tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Castle has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Castle wants to lay and pray for a moment but Potratz keeps working. Potratz could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Castle is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Potratz is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Potratz is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Castle is controlling him well. Castle tries to strike from the bottom but misses. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Castle can't do much from the bottom here. Castle manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Castle is trying to stand.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Castle is trying to get back to full guard. Potratz stops Castle from getting back to his feet.

Castle might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Potratz kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Potratz wanted to stand there but Castle had control of the position. Castle looking for a sweep. Not yet Castle, not yet. Potratz prevents Castle from getting back to his feet. Potratz stands up from guard. Let's bang! Potratz closes the distance but Castle moves to the side and Castle counters with a two punch combo. Potratz forces Castle back against the cage and clinches. Nicholas Castle has got the better of the ground game so far. Castle tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Potratz smiles and moves away.

The fight stays on the outside here - Castle looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Castle will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Potratz moves into the clinch successfully.

Nice takedown defense from Potratz. No joy for Castle on that attempt. Potratz tries to keep at a distance but Castle has taken the fight into the clinch. Castle tries to pull guard but Potratz holds him up against the cage and eventually Castle drops back down to his feet.

We're back to striking at a distance. Castle closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Potratz is looking to clinch. Potratz gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Potratz is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Castle is controlling him. Castle drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Castle jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Castle wants to control from the top but Potratz keeps moving. Potratz wants to stand but Castle is controlling the position. Castle wanted to stand there but Potratz had control of the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Castle pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Potratz is keeping the position for now. Potratz has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Castle off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Castle will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Potratz throws a right hand that Castle ducks under and follows up with a left that Castle also avoids with ease. Potratz swings away with a body shot that misses
and Castle counters by clinching up. Castle jumps guard but Potratz stands there with Castle around his waist. Castle gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Castle has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Potratz is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Potratz escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and Castle counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Potratz! Castle goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Potratz is on top in guard.
Castle lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Potratz! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Castle tries to control but Potratz wriggling away. Castle looking to ground and pound but Potratz is blocking nicely. Castle content just to control the position here. Castle moves to back control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Potratz depends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Castle's arms. Allie Potratz has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Castle working for a choke but Potratz reverses nicely into Castle 's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Nicholas Castle comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Castle winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
