Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rico Ramos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Wood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wood is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by one hitta quitta. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rico Ramos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Marcus Wood! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Paul Gruel and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wood throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ramos. Ramos is trying hard to land a takedown here. Wood sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Wood throws a shot from downtown. Ramos moves away and avoids it. Ramos connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Ramos shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Wood but Wood pushes him off and we're back to square one. Wood displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ramos. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rico Ramos. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ramos has managed to clinch.
Ramos jumps guard but Wood stands there with Ramos around his waist. Ramos gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Wood tries to land knees in the clinch but Ramos avoids the damage to the body. Wood tries a knee to the head but Ramos blocks it.

Ramos will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Wood up against the cage. Ramos is trying to pull guard but Wood has him pressed against the cage. Ramos has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Wood missing with knees to the body.

Ramos lands with a punch from half guard. Wood is staying active underneath Ramos, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ramos wants to pass the guard but Wood is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ramos controlling the action here. Ramos is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Wood doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ramos. Wood is trying to stand up here but Ramos is controlling him well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Ramos is stalling here. Wood is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Ramos seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Wood has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ramos manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Ramos seems to be looking for submissions.
Ramos trying to mount his opponent but Wood defends it. Ramos landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Ramos is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Wood has managed to free his arm - good work. Ramos missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rico Ramos dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Wood goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Wood tries to clinch there but Ramos circles away.
Wood's corner calls for a 1-2. Wood obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Wood blocks the body kick.
Wood throws a lazy right hand but Ramos sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Wood. Ramos fails with the takedown. Wood doesn't manage to clinch there - Ramos circles away.
Wood darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Ramos scores a takedown into full mount! You get the feeling that Wood really doesn't like being in this position too much.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ramos wants to control the pace but Wood is squirming around nicely. Ramos sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Wood trying desperately to get to his feet.
Ramos breaks from Wood's wrist control and lands an elbow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ramos wants to control the pace but Wood is squirming around nicely. Ramos jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Wood is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Wood and Ramos has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Ramos trying to control the action but Wood is working from the bottom. Ramos connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Wood some visible discomfort.

Rico Ramos dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Ramos closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Wood quickly recovers to half guard. Wood tries to kick Ramos off but Ramos keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Ramos with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Wood pushes Ramos off looking to stand but Ramos dives back in and keeps control.
Ramos works his way into full mount! Wood is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ramos unloading with bombs! Rico Ramos overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Ramos working the ground and pound effectively.
Ramos lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Ramos with the ground and pound from mount. Ramos scoring with strikes but Wood is staying in there. Ramos putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Wood takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Ramos's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rico Ramos! Rico Ramos tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
