Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Mateusz Trzmiel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Jose Domingues! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Donald Grub and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Trzmiel tries to clinch up. Domingues fails with the takedown. Trzmiel misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Domingues.
Trzmiel scores with a head kick. Domingues tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Domingues misses the shot to the body. Trzmiel gets a clinch. Domingues tightens his grip and picks Trzmiel up, before dumping him to the ground. Trzmiel manages to land in guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Trzmiel is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Domingues decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Domingues scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
It looks like Mateusz Trzmiel has been cut. Trzmiel feints a jab promting Domingues to slip. Trzmiel then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Domingues slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Domingues misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Mateusz Trzmiel is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Trzmiel fails with an attempt to clinch.
Trzmiel wants to clinch but Domingues slips to the side and Domingues counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Trzmiel tries to clinch but Domingues is having none of it. Domingues displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Trzmiel throws out the jab. Domingues dives in and grabs Trzmiel's left leg, looking for a takedown. Trzmiel pushes down on Domingues's head and hops out. Mateusz Trzmiel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jose Domingues. Trzmiel scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Domingues closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Trzmiel quickly recovers to half guard. Trzmiel could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Domingues thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Trzmiel's head. Domingues trying to control from half guard but Trzmiel is working away. Domingues passes the guard and advances to mount! Domingues throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Trzmiel has his hands clasped together but Domingues breaks the hold and Trzmiel is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Domingues!
