Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Arwind Santos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Chael Mondello! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Steve Montenegro and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mondello scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Mondello thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Santos's head. Mondello seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Mondello tries to stand and escape but Santos actually recovers to full guard. Mondello throws an elbow that misses. Santos uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Mondello's guard. Nice move by Santos! Mondello is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Santos fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mondello, pushing him back against the cage. Santos crunches a lovely knee into Mondello's ribcage. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Santos manages to break the clinch.

and Santos counters with a body kick. Santos takes the fight into the clinch. Mondello is trying to drag Santos to the mat but Santos just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Arwind Santos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chael Mondello. Santos ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Santos no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Mondello tries to bum rush Santos with a series of wild strikes but Santos uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Mondello tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Santos was well out of range. Poor timing from Mondello. Mondello tries to clinch up. Some wild striking there from Mondello.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Mondello has Santos pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Santos manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Santos tries to pull guard but Mondello won't allow it.

Mondello stuffs the takedown attempt from Santos. Santos gets slowly back to his feet. Mondello fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Santos to the ground. Mondello is now in Santos's guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Mondello won't allow Santos to sweep him here. Mondello is looking to work some ground and pound but Santos has wrist control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Santos slaps away a takedown attempt from Mondello, before circling back to the center of the mat. Mondello lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. No joy there for Mondello, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Mondello defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Santos. Mondello throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Mondello takes a kick to the side of the head. Mondello throws a half hearted mid kick. Santos showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Mondello.

Mondello shoots in looking for a takedown. Santos tries to sprawl out of it but Mondello keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Santos manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Mondello is breathing heavily. Santos gets in close and instigates a clinch. Santos has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Santos tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Santos can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mondello is looking to escape. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mondello's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Arwind Santos will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Chael Mondello's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Mondello then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Santos slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Santos uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mondello.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Mondello gets caught flat footed, as Santos shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Santos trying to control the position from guard on top but Mondello is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Santos prevents Mondello from getting back to his feet. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Santos throwing strikes but missing. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Santos has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Mondello is proving hard to escape from.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Chael Mondello. I think Mondello has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
