Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chras Watsky! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ian Roberts! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Bruno Hogan and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roberts dives in and scores a takedown into Watsky's guard. Roberts cracks Watsky with a solid left hand. Roberts wants to pass the guard but Watsky is keeping the position. Watsky wants to stand and escape but Roberts is having none of it. Roberts is pushing down on Watsky's leg trying to pass to half guard. Watsky is fighting to maintain full guard but Roberts has managed to sneak the leg through. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Roberts decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Roberts shoots for a takedown but Watsky saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Watsky defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Roberts. Roberts throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Watsky looks to land a combination but Roberts avoids it well. Roberts shoots in for a takedown and gets it. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Watsky is trying to stand back up but Roberts is controlling him
That's one minute gone in the round. Roberts is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Roberts looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Roberts prevents Watsky from standing back up.
Roberts seems to be looking for submissions.
Watsky is refusing to be controlled, as Roberts sits in half guard. Roberts tries to pass to full mount but Watsky defends it. Roberts perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Roberts wants to pass the guard but Watsky is defending well. Roberts is thwarting Watsky's attempts to control the position. Roberts looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Watsky knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Roberts on the ground.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Ian Roberts hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Roberts throws a head kick but Watsky moves out of range.

Roberts moves into the clinch. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Roberts with a knee to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Watsky is trying to break the clinch but Roberts is controlling him. Watsky working hard to break the clinch. Roberts is trying to trip Watsky. He has hold of a leg but Watsky is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Roberts persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Roberts gets to his feet. Watsky looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Roberts tries to close the distance and clinch but Watsky swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Roberts throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Watsky leaves Roberts with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Chras Watsky has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ian Roberts. The fight moves into the clinch position. Roberts keeps control of Watsky as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Roberts pulls guard successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Roberts has control of Watsky's left arm, preventing Watsky from doing any damage.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Roberts is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Roberts escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Roberts fails with the takedown. Watsky pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Watsky gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Roberts to score an easy takedown into full guard. Watsky is breathing heavily. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Roberts pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Watsky is keeping the position for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ian Roberts dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Roberts throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Watsky's waist but Watsky gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Roberts off to one side. Watsky will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Watsky misses with a kick to the body.
Roberts displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Watsky throws out the jab. Watsky throws a right and a left that Roberts avoids nicely. Watsky doesn't manage to clinch there - Roberts circles away.
Roberts turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Roberts throws a sloppy head kick and Watsky moves out of range easily. Watsky darts in and clinches Roberts up against the cage. Roberts pulls guard successfully.
Roberts lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Watsky! Roberts punishing his opponent with strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roberts throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Watsky has his hands clasped together but Roberts breaks the hold and Watsky is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Roberts!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Ian Roberts! After winning the bout, Ian Roberts thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
