Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between William Striker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jerry Spring (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). William Striker has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, William Striker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jerry Spring!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Paulo Santos and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Spring scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Striker wants to control but Spring postures up.

Spring is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Striker is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Spring tries to score with some ground and pound. Striker controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Striker can't do much from the bottom here.
Spring creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Spring decides to stand back up.
Spring fails to land the takedown.
Spring looks gassed!
Striker lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Striker fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Striker shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Spring counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Spring looking to pass the guard.
Spring postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Striker is pulling down on Spring's head to control his posture.
Striker has a closed guard, preventing Spring from standing up.
Striker wants to stand and escape but Spring is having none of it.
Striker has Spring pulled in close to control his posture.
Striker is looking to stand up but Spring isn't so interested in that idea.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Spring trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Spring loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Spring wants to control from the top but Striker keeps moving.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Spring shoots in but no luck this time.

Spring clinches up against the cage.

Spring breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
William Striker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Spring with a lazy takedown attempt
and Striker counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
William Striker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jerry Spring.

Striker lands with a thumping leg kick.
Striker throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Spring takes a kick to the side of the head.

Spring rushes Striker and presses him up against the cage.

Spring breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Striker connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Striker throws a sloppy head kick and Spring moves out of range easily.
Striker shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Spring as he jumps to the side.

Spring drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Spring trying to control but Striker is working from the bottom.
Striker really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Striker is pulling down on Spring's head to control his posture.
Striker wants to sweep here but Spring controlling him for the moment.
Striker wants to stand and escape but Spring is having none of it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Striker uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Striker digs a good hook to Spring's body.
Striker lands a glancing blow to the side of Spring's head.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Spring prevents Striker from breaking the clinch.

Spring manages to break the clinch.
Striker lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Striker.
Striker scores with a one two! Spring had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Striker digs a good body shot into Spring's ribs.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Striker has momentary wrist control but Spring slips an elbow through the middle.
Spring stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Striker swivels though and keeps the full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Spring postures up and lands a big shot to Striker's brow.

Spring stands up and waves to Striker to follow him.
Striker gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Spring counters with a single leg into guard. Striker didn't expect that.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jerry Spring dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Striker looks for a takedown but Spring sprawls well.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Striker lands with a straight right. Spring didn't see that one coming.
Striker is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Striker shoots for a takedown but Spring saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Striker throws a sloppy head kick and Spring moves out of range easily.

Spring drops back looking for a leg! Striker is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Striker manages to kick Spring off! Spring jumps back into Striker's guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Spring throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Striker will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Spring decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Striker catches Spring with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Striker thuds his right hand into Spring's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Striker lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Striker thuds a left hand into Spring's body.
A left lands for Striker.
Striker changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Spring tries to avoid it but Striker manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Spring to the ground. Spring escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Striker throws a sloppy head kick and Spring moves out of range easily.

Spring shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Striker's guard.
Striker wants to sweep but no luck.
Spring keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Striker's head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Striker is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Spring stands up and waves to Striker to follow him.
Striker tries to clinch up but Spring circles away and keeps his distance.
Spring throws a right and a left that both miss.
Spring tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Striker looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Spring!

Striker tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Spring tries to reverse the position but Striker maintains control.

Striker knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Spring on the ground.
Spring slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Spring trying to control but Striker postures up.
Striker works his way into full mount!
Spring sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Spring moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Spring is looking for a triangle but Striker pushes his legs off easily.

Spring working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Striker has passed into half guard!
Striker wants to stand up but Spring is controlling the position.
Striker seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Striker prevents Spring from improving his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jerry Spring showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Striker wants to control but Spring is having none of it.

Spring has hold of Striker's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Striker manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Spring looking to ground and pound but Striker is blocking nicely.
Striker is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Spring is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Spring!
