Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rodrigues Junior!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Carlos Silva!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Matheus Silva and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Junior uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Silva.
Rodrigues Junior seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Junior closes the distance and pushes Silva back into the cage.
Junior is trying to drag Silva to the mat but Silva just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Junior stops a takedown attempt from Silva.
Junior breaks from the clinch.
Junior darts in and clinches Silva up against the cage.
Junior breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Junior avoids the head kick by Silva.
Junior misses with a double jab
and Silva counters with a nice body kick.
No luck for Silva with that takedown attempt.
Silva tries to keep at a distance but Junior has taken the fight into the clinch.
Silva is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Junior pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Rodrigues Junior has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlos Silva.
Junior breaks from the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Junior pushes Silva up against the cage in a clinch.
Junior breaks the clinch.
Junior drives through and clinches with Silva against the cage.
Junior tries to land a knee to the head but Silva blocks with his arms.
Silva throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Silva is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Junior will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Silva up against the cage.
Junior lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Junior pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Junior shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Silva eats them both and turns towards Junior to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Silva looks to score with a jab to the body but Junior is just out of range.
Silva doesn't manage to clinch there - Junior circles away.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Silva fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

and Junior counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Junior.
Silva looks gassed!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Junior's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Silva content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Junior escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Junior lands a big head kick that sends Silva tumbling to the mat! Junior takes a step backwards and waves Silva back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Silva is rocked!
Rodrigues Junior is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Silva gets hit by the mother of all head kicks and drops to the canvas in a crumpled heap! Woooow, the Internet is going to be talking about this one for weeks!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Rodrigues Junior!
