Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Makovsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Makovsky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Luke Taylor!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Makovsky fails to land the takedown.
Taylor tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Makovsky swivels and escapes.
Makovsky swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Taylor doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Makovsky counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Makovsky.
Taylor using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Makovsky has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Makovsky is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Taylor has hold of one of Makovsky's legs. Makovsky is fighting the takedown attempt but Taylor gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Makovsky controls Taylor momentarily but Taylor frees himself.

Taylor stands up from Makovsky's guard - Taylor perhaps looking for a knockout.
Taylor tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Makovsky swivels and escapes.
John Makovsky has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luke Taylor.
Taylor closes the distance and clinches up with Makovsky, looking for a takedown. Taylor pushes Makovsky against the cage but Makovsky circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Makovsky wanted to stand there but Taylor had control of the position.

Makovsky knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Taylor on the ground.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up because John Makovsky just wasn't active enough.
Makovsky tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Taylor was well out of range. Poor timing from Makovsky.

Makovsky is staying active underneath Taylor, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Makovsky wants to stand back up but Taylor manages to pass into side control.
Makovsky is looking to regain half guard here but Taylor keeps moving and retains side control.
Taylor passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Makovsky!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Makovsky stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Makovsky wants it to stay on the feet.

Taylor shoots in looking for a takedown. Makovsky tries to sprawl out of it but Taylor keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Makovsky manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Taylor fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Makovsky avoids it really well and circles away.

John Makovsky overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Taylor sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Makovsky is taking a breather. Taylor says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

John Makovsky dominated that second round.
That's time! Makovsky's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


A telegraphed takedown attempt from Makovsky is defended easily by Taylor.

Makovsky manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Taylor on his heels. He'll look to pass Taylor's guard now, I'm sure.
