Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Terry Tate!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
12 - 4 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Stanley Stuus!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Illya Tyunina and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tate shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Stuus flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Stuus is looking to improve his position.
Stuus looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Tate tries to pass the half guard into mount. Stuus knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Tate looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Stuus with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Stuus is trying to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tate stalling away here and it's allowed Stuus to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Tate trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Stuus looking for a sweep. Not yet Stuus, not yet.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Tate looking to pass the guard.
Stuus wants to sweep here but Tate controlling him for the moment.
Tate is pushing down on Stuus's leg trying to pass to half guard. Stuus is fighting to maintain full guard but Tate has managed to sneak the leg through.
Tate lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Tate working over Stuus with some ground and pound. Stuus looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Stuus won't allow Tate to pass to mount.
Tate working Stuus over with strikes.
Tate throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Tate will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Tate lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Tate passes the guard and advances to mount!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Tate landing strikes from the mount and Stuus is in trouble!
Stuus is looking to improve his position but Tate isn't that keen on the idea.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tate punishing his opponent with strikes.
Stuus is working to get back to half guard.
Tate is landing with some decent strikes but Stuus is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Stuus taking shots to the head.
Tate has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Stuus's face.
Tate wants to control the pace but Stuus is squirming around nicely.
Tate breaks from Stuus's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Stuus is rocked!
Stuus is working to get back to half guard.
Tate is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Stuus is still in real trouble! Can Tate finish him?
Tate postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Stuus bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Tate and the fight is over!
