Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Byson Baylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Byson Baylor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, William Wallace!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Paul Gruel and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baylor will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Wallace stuffs the takedown attempt from Baylor. Baylor gets slowly back to his feet.
Baylor tries to score a power double leg takedown but Wallace sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Baylor somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Byson Baylor. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Wallace fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Baylor manages to avoid it.
Jab, jab by Wallace - just one landing.
Baylor looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Baylor shoots in looking for a takedown. Wallace tries to sprawl out of it but Baylor keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wallace manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Wallace rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Baylor moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Baylor is trying hard to land a takedown here. Wallace sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

and Wallace counters with a series of strikes. Baylor will be more careful next time no doubt.

Wallace scores with a sloppy right hand. Baylor should have avoided that one.
Baylor takes a shot to the body in his stride.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Baylor is defended easily by Wallace.
Wallace bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Baylor's head backwards.
Baylor shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Wallace but Wallace pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Wallace throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Baylor on the side of the head.
Baylor takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Baylor closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Baylor lands in his opponent's guard.

Baylor drops back looking for a leg! Wallace is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Wallace manages to kick Baylor off! Baylor jumps back into Wallace's guard.

Wallace has control of Baylor's left arm, preventing Baylor from doing any damage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

William Wallace dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Wallace looks to land a combination but Baylor avoids it well.
Baylor fails with a takedown attempt.
Wallace moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

and Wallace makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Wallace just misses with a punch to the body.
Baylor shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Wallace as he avoids it easily.

Wallace throws a good cross that connects.

Baylor feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Baylor stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wallace swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Baylor has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Baylor got a little sloppy there for a moment and Wallace has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Baylor has managed to get both his arms back between Wallace's legs - danger averted.
Wallace is trying to keep Baylor in close.

Wallace throws a few punches from the bottom. Baylor seems unphased and he's got hold of a leg now - he's dropped back for a heel hook! He's got it! This fight is aaaaaaaaaall over!
